Capture hit test results outside of an iframe?

I have an application in which users load pages ontop of each other via an iframe. I have an overlapping set of styles which overlap and "should" have no effect if applied to content not in the iframe however the styles still display outside of the frame and entirely across both frames. Is it possible to somehow get hit testing results between the frames?
